SEIMEI Telescope
The Seimei telescope is the largest telescope in the East Asian region and the first segmented telescope in Japan.
The primary mirror collecting light from stars consists of 18 individual segmented mirrors, which are controlled to be in ideal positions.
The segmented mirror technique enables us to get a more giant aperture telescope.
Also, thanks to its light structure, Seimei quickly captures targets and contributes to the studies of time-domain astronomy, such as supernovae and superflares.
