From Frank J MELILLO
@. . . . . Dear all Jupiter observers-- The seeing was so bad at the
time I was imaging. A lot of high clouds scattered around but they moved pretty
swiftly. Also, it was quite breezy and damp from the rain earlier that day. All
and all, I have posted two decent images at my website at:
http://hometown.aol.com/frankj12/jupiterindex.html
If you look carefully, I think
you can make out the BA oval near the GRS.
Unfortunately, I haven't got the time to collimate my C-8 telescope
under this quick and severed condition. Regards,

@ . . . . . . Dear Dave and all - Great shots! Also, I imaged Mars about
two hours earlier than yours (22:00 - 22:30 UT Jan.12th).
I'll let you know when it is be posted on my webpage.
Meanwhile, I had imaged Mercury
that same evening and it is posted at:

Dear all Mars observers- I have posted my latest two
images of Mars 1-12-2002
at:

The seeing was pretty good so it
allowed me to take some high resolution. Two hours later after both images were
taken, David Moore took his. Syrtis Major was easily visible in Dave's images
while mine, it was near to the morning limb.
