General Information
CAWSES International Workshop on Space Weather Modeling (CSWM) will be held at the Earth Simulator Center in Yokohama, Japan from November 14 to 17, 2006. This workshop will provide a forum for review and discussion of space weather modeling research. Not only the numerical simulation but also the observation and the elementary physics of space weather related phenomena can be covered in this workshop. Also the special session for “Hinode (Solar-B)” first light will be organized. This workshop really aims to promote the interdisciplinary collaboration among different research fields, the Sun, the solar corona, solar wind, Earth’s Magnetosphere, ionosphere, numerical modeling, and plasma physics, and it is open to any scientists interested in space weather research.
Workshop Venue & Host Institute:
The Earth Simulator Center,Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC)

Please check the session schedule of your presentation on the web page above.
Note for Poster Presenters
- "Short Oral Session for Posters" will be held just before each Poster Session. In these sessions, poster presenters should talk about the summary of each poster within 1min using one sheet of PowerPoint (ppt) file. All the poster presenters are required to send the ppt files for the short oral talk as an attached file named “YOUR_POSTER_NUMBER.ppt” (ex. P2-03.ppt) to cswm_abst@jamstec.go.jp
- Poster presenters should stand by their posters during the core presentation time of assigned session (POSTER I or II).
- All posters can be displayed during all four days of workshop.
- Each poster board is 120cm wide and 175cm height.
- Pushpins to affix posters on the board are available in the poster session area.
Joint Session with the Sun-Earth Connection Virtual Conference
"The 1st CAWSES Virtual Conference focusing on the state of the Sun-Earth system during extreme space weather events" will be held as the joint conference of this CSWM Workshop. We have special joint sessions at the evening on Nov. 14 and 16, respectively, in which moderators will introduce the papers of the Virtual Conference and lead the discussion relating to the papers. It is encouraged for all the CSWM attendee to submit their paper also to the Virtual Conference. For further detail of the Virtual Conference, access the web page http://workshops.jhuapl.edu/s1/index.html, or contact J. Kozyra (jukozyra@engin.umich.edu).
Electronic Proceedings
Power point files or pdf files of all invited, oral, and poster papers will be collected during the workshop and will be put on the CSWM web site.
Proceedings
The proceedings of the workshop will be published. The detail information will be given during the workshop.
Banquet
Banquet will be held in the evening of Nov. 15 (Wed) 18:00-20:00 at Restaurant Dohatsu in China Town, Yokohama. The bus transportation from the institute will be provided.
