Asteroid Nagatatetsuya is named after Tetsuya Nagata, professor emeritus at Kyoto University and project leader of the SEIMEI Telescope.

Uranus eclipse during lunar eclipse (appearance) November 8, 2022.

During the lunar eclipse, the SEIMEI telescope captured Uranus emerging from the edge of the moon.

Hayabusa2 return capsule

At around 18:00 (Japan time) on December 5, 2020, the SEIME Telescope successfully photographed the return capsule of the asteroid explorer Hayabusa2. The small light spot in the center of the image is the "return capsule". The light spot on the left side of the image moving to the left is Hayabusa2.
