RE:Mars Images
Hi Masatsugu,
Thanks for
your kind words. Observing Mars during perihelic apparitions is a nervous
proposition for you in
I don't use Planetmaster since it won't work with the ST9 -- however,
of someone knows how to make it work with my camera I would be very interested.
Until two weeks ago I had to sort through about 500 red-light images and pick
the best 30-50 to stack. Then I discovered that if I increase the exposures to
near saturation, the noise is reduced enough that I can use single, or maybe
two, frames for the red channel. The ST9XE has huge dynamic range and very low
noise tat makes this possible. So now I can just save the best shots. Saves
about two hours!
I just saw on
the Weather Channel that the typhoon has weakened after crossing over
Best, and
thanks for the great job displaying observations on the OAA web page,
