"Martian" news....
Just a note to say i have now finally
booked today (for
a very good price) my overseas Mars observing trip. I will be staying on the west coast
of Barbados between Aug 25th to Sept 8th (13゚N, 59゚W) I intend on covering
Mars as much as possible during my two week stay (weather permitting.) I am
very optimistic about what will be possible from this excellent location. I
will be observing with a 8" f/6 Newtonian
and the webcam.
I will of course send you
my results on my return to the

Re: CMO#266-#270
Dear Masatsugu,
Thank you for your e-mail. I should have informed you of my plans
earlier. …….
As you already know, i will be observing
Mars from overseas between Aug 25th-Sep 8th with my new custom newtonian. However, my next set of
Mars images to you, will probably be late July from this new newtonian, as current circumstances don’t permit me to use
the big telescope.
I will be using the ToUcam
Pro during my overseas imaging period. I hope to produce high resolution colour
images of the Planet.
Regarding the ToUcam - Tan Wei Leong and Myself
have been doing some research into it, and have made some interesting findings,
which we will report to you very soon.
Thanks again, and despite
my not receiving your printed CMOs, i regularly read the online versions at your webpages. I wish you all a prosperous Mars 2003, and lets hope that we all will enjoy fine views....
Best Wishes

Jupiter Activity Guide.
Just a note to say i have recently
completed a Jupiter observing guide at my webpages
which many observers may find helpful in observing and imaging the Giant
Planet. It is located at:
http://homepage.ntlworld.com/dpeach78/jup_desc.htm
My thanks to Don Parker and
Eric Ng for allowing the use of there images.
Also, pleased excuse any errors, as this guide was
written from memory!

Activity on Saturn during 2002-03.
Here is a brief report on the interesting atmospheric activity on
Saturn that was followed during the 2002-03 apparition.
It can be found at:

Some observers images have been used to
illustrate this report (namely Don Parker, Ed Grafton, Gu
Yu and my own). I hope you find the report of interest.
