I hope that you and your countrymen have a happy new year.

I have continued to measure the brightness and polarization of Mars.

I measured the magnitude of Mars to be +0.81 on Jan. 4, 2002 which is in good agreement with the predicted value of +0.80. This result shows that there was not much dust activity on Mars.
